Who is Elemque?

Elemque is a made up name from my initials, LMQ. I have used it online for years so I thought, why not use it in the title of my blog!

I'm in my fourth decade of life. I've been married since 1996 and have two children. I was born and raised in Australia where I still live.

I have been a Christian since 1994. This journey has had many ups and downs. I'll tell my stories gradually, but know that Jesus is the most important person in my life.

I have explored being dairy-free, meat-free and almost Vegan since around 2003 for health reasons. It's only now (September 2014) that I have decided to give up all animals products and attempt to live a cruelty-free life. I say attempt because of a couple of reasons, the first being that no one is perfect and we are all put into impossible situations from time to the time. The second is that it has been said that in this global, industrialised world it is now impossible to live a truly Vegan lifestyle. While I don't know if that is true I will do my best to.

Closely tied to nutrition is fitness for me. I have be relatively active most of my life. I have always been drawn to individual pursuits like bike riding and swimming.

Minimalism is something that has intrigued me for a while now. I like the idea of enough and simplicity. I used to be a pack rat and have gradually decluttered to a normal amount. Now I'm beginning my minimal journey and finding enough for me and my family.
